Wii has been on my mind as of late. Wondering why on Earth I went through the debacle I went through to secure myself a Wii at launch when I do not play the piece of shit. Whilst Fragile doesn't look like the one game that will re-kindle my love for Wii, it's certainly an interesting looking game...
So it turns out the main character is a boy! I always thought it was a girl. His effeminate looks certainly gives some of the guys of Final Fantasy a run for their money!
Fragile looks like a cool game. Understated and without the explosive trailers that the Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII had - but still with an endearing quality about it. It really is a shame the Wii isn't more graphically adept. The in game could've looked how the FMV sequences do - rivalling Eternal sonata.
I am loving the theme song. It's titled "Hikari" (yes...the same as THAT game's theme song) and is sung by Aoi Teshima. It sounds really nice and worked well with the trailer to tug on the ol' heart string. I already hunted that shit down and downloaded it. You know J can't resist a good bit of J-Pop. It's my weakness.
Hopefully Fragile will turn out to be more than snooping around locations which look like Amy Winehouse's crack dens. In true J-RPG fashion, Western audiences probably won't get this game until a year after it's been out in Japan. And because it doesn't have the name Final Fantasy or Dragon quest tagged onto it, it probably won't get given the time of day by the masses any way.
It's good to know this game is still in development though and that Namco Ban Dai are even bothering to develop it in the first place. It'd be great if by some miracle it managed to shift a fair amount of units.
