If you're sophisticated and have loads of money in the UK, then there's only one supermarket you shop in: LIDL. Now, I've got nothing against LIDL. I just think the stores are a dump, the staff are slow and the food looks like it'll kill you if you eat it. But there's one thing that keeps me running back up LIDL's aisle's every now and again.
My Grandmother is diabetic. She goes through phases with little pick me ups she has to raise her blood sugar when she feels she's starting to go hypo. But back in the day she used to have these sweets. Whenever I'd go visit her she'd always be like "There's some sweets there if you want some". I'd then take one, eat it and then sit in the chair twitching because I'd want another. I knew I had it bad when I'd wait for her to go off to the kitchen or toilet and then raid the packet of sweets before she came back. It got bad to the point where I'd load my pockets with the sweets and then tell her I have to get home.
It really is bad. Sometimes these sweets are all I'll eat all day. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, throughout the night. It's terrible, I know. But these sweets are so addictive! I value my teeth, so I think I need to stop eating them. But they're like crack. I bought 4 bags of them today. I didn't even wait for change when I paid for them. I just threw down the money at the till and ran out the shop. I've already eaten a whole bag tonight. And I know half the next bag will be breakfast, with the other half being lunch.
